Tupolev Tu-134 accident report

Friday 14 January 1966 Tupolev Tu-134 Aeroflot prototype CCCP-45076 c/n 0001

Test flight from Moscow – Chkalovsky apt. with 8 crew and no passengers. YOM : 1964.

Went out of control during a test at relative low altitude and dove into the ground. engines : Soloviev D-20 All 8 crew died in the crash. The aircraft was on display at the Paris Airshow June 1965 at Le Bourget

Thursday 16 September 1971 Malev Tu-134 HA-LBD c/n 9350801

ISP Flight from Budapest (BUD) to Kiev (KBP) with 8 crew and 41 passengers. YOM : 1969. Two approached in foggy weather had to be aborted. Then on the third approach the aircraft crashed and broke up. All 49 people on board died in the crash.

location : near Kiev – Borispol airport +- 100m 50°18’26”N 30°52’59”E

Thursday 16 March 1978 Balkan Bulgarian Tu-134 LZ-TUB c/n 8350501

ISP Flight from Sofia (SOF) to Warszawa (WAW) with 7 crew and 66 passengers. YOM : 1968. Shortly after take-off control was lost. The aircraft entered a spin and crashed.

All 73 people on board died in the crash. location : near Gabare +- 100m 43°19’06”N 23°55’05”E

In above table all known fatal accidents are listed, but not all incidents with no fatalities, only those with total flying hours known are listed , with the purpose to deduct the amount of years flown yearly and the average flight time.
